Choco Loco Shop by HHF Architects

Choco loco
is a shop specialized in black chocolate designed by HHF Architects and located in the old town of Basel. Due to its small sized space and narrow street front the shop is designed to be an accessible shop display. The architectural intervention is therefore mainly based on three pieces of furniture, which are maximizing the display space.

On one side the uncoiled display wall is seamless going over into a bench, which is part of the shop window. To adapt to the color and material of the exposed chocolate, the wall is covered with wrapping paper, whereas the counter and the window display are paintend with a dark brown chocolate like lacquer.

In the front part of the shop the bars are hanging on the wall like pieces of art in a gallery. This is possible through a magnetic plate behind the wallpaper.
